NTv2 grids: CANOA to WGS84 and more
Some interesting NTv2 transformation grids can be downloaded from here (bottom of page): http://www.killetsoft.de/p_trdn_e.htm Following a previous post , here is the Canoa to WGS84 transformation grid (download as a ZIP file and uncompress to get the GSB file which can be used in gvSIG and other GIS applications): [Download Canoa to WGS84 transformation grid] It's made up of 65136 nodes located across Venezuela and computed using the Molodensky-Badekas formulae with the ten official parameters. Therefore, this grid imitates the M-B transformation method. The average offset d (and its standard deviation s ) between the result provided by this grid and the result of the formulae is approximately: d = 0.00093 m = 0.93 mm s = 0.00023 m = 0.23 mm Official parameters can be seen here: http://www.sirgas.org/fileadmin/docs/regvenPDVSA.pdf Special thanks to: Hermógenes Suárez (PDVSA, Venezuela) José Nicolás Pérez Duin (PDVSA, Venezuela)
